How we treat injured skin and other skin complications with Shamá method®

The first visit is very important because we thoroughly examine your skin issue and anatomical conditions. You can read more about the First visit here! You can also learn more about our treatment method Shamá method® here!

Before the actual treatment, a test is performed on the skin. This is to see if the products and pigments are rejected or not by the skin because some individuals with skin disease do not absorb the products sufficiently. To establish this, it may be necessary to do 1-2 test treatments. At every treatment, one assess if one need to enhance the treatment effect for a satisfactory result.

A sterile disposable needle is used during the treatment process and it penetrates very gently into the skin barely a millimeter deep and is not painful. The medical products that are used sinks superficially in the skin layer and acts on the area days after the treatment. It is important to take care of the treated area according to the instructions given. The care after a treatment is an important step to get a satisfying result. After a few treatments, the diseased or problematic area will not be visible and thus stands no longer out.

How many treatments needs to be done & the time between them?

The problematic area is treated very carefully and the treatment is repeated at 8 to 30-day intervals depending on the characteristics of the skin area. This is to avoid more stress on the already injured skin. For an assessment, a personal visit is required where the issue is examined. The treatment is repeated several times for a safe and great result. The average number of treatments is about 4-6.

What can one expect after a successful treatment?

We have performed 1000s of documented scar treatments on different skin types, and can with confidence say that our method removes scars, alternatively corrects by 50-90%. Every case is of course on an individual basis and only after a consultation can a proper assessment be given. A scar is injured skin tissue and sometimes an overall visible repair isn’t possible. However, it can be much better than before. Many clients and patients have been satisfied with a visible improvement.

Can I return to everyday life as usual after a treatment?

Yes, it’s perfectly possible to return to everyday life as usual. The treated area should not be covered with bandage. The first few days you should be careful with heavy exercise where you sweat a lot.

Does it hurt when you treat the injured skin?

Some experience a tingling sensation, but this is not a painful procedure. Usually, only a topical anesthetic is needed which is applied for about 30-60 minutes. If you are very sensitive, stronger anesthetics is used if necessary.

Does side effects or injuries occur after Shamá method®?

After 30 years of documented work Shamá method® has not shown any side effects, complications or hazards. We treat the skin area in several sessions to create the best outcome which ensures that there are no complications or abrasions on the already injured skin.
